At CIA we are concerned at the deteriorating state of the environment which is having a negative effect on the climate, greatly affecting Australia’s weather and doing irreparable damage to our planet. As a result, we are actively seeking to make a positive impact.

We are proud to announce that as of April 2011, we have now become a paperless office.

Whilst it would be almost impossible to eradicate paper in our business, we are actively moving to a paperless environment.

  • To assist us in this endeavour we are asking our clients to provide their email address so that we can forward all documentation electronically.
  • We are working closely with our suppliers to forward all their documents to us electronically.
  • Where documentation is required, we are using Recycled paper where available.
  • Where paper is produced, we now recycle (securely) all documentation, which ensures privacy for clients, whilst also reducing landfill.

We utilise GreenPower, generated from Hydro, Solar, Biomass and Wind

By utilising renewable energy, we are reducing the amount of fossil fuels utilised in more traditional energy supply. Before opting for a renewable energy provider, we were emitting an estimated 50 tonnes of Carbon annually in electricity use alone.

We offset vehicle usage

In the 2008/2009 financial year, the three directors (who are also the sales team) at CIA, had an estimated combined Carbon output of 20 tonnes, this has now been offset by Purchasing Offsets by the planting of 74 native trees through Green Fleet. See attached certificate.

By taking positive steps towards reducing climate change, we hope that in conjunction with our client’s we can reduce the amount of extreme weather occurrences, and as a result insurance claims.
