Wooden Boat Insurance

Owning a Classic boat or Timber boat is usually a decision of the heart more than the head, and those who know you would probably say that it is a borderline obsession.

We get it.

CIA has specialised in Wooden Boat Insurance for over 30 years, (mainly insuring Couta Boats Australia wide) and has arranged insurances from little wooden dinghies to converted ex-commercial survey vessels.

No two wooden boats are ever the same, and we can guarantee we have the expertise to ensure the full and adequate protection of your Wooden Boat.

As an owner of a wooden boat, you know that insurance forms only a small part of the protection of your wooden boat, and that proactive risk management is essential in ensuring the wellbeing of your boat.

To help you protect your boat we require certain records to be updated regularly and forwarded to us to keep for your continued protection, and to assist us if a claim does arise these documents include:

  • Service Records
  • Photographs (both in and out of water)
  • Mooring Service Records
  • Out of Water Storage dates and location

As it is becoming increasingly harder to obtain insurance on a swing mooring it is imperative we are able to evidence proactive risk management and we have a number of initiatives to ensure this is able to be easily evidenced.

To ask Nathan any questions in relation to wooden boat insurance, or swing mooring insurance please do not hesitate by emailing him at nathan@ciainsurance.com.au.

CIA  Looking after Couta Owners Needs

Nobody knows Couta Insurance like CIA!

Whilst maintaining an affordable Couta Insurance product or boat insurance from CIA, wedeliver REAL PROTECTION by ensuring your COUTA is covered for any eventuality.

This does not happen at the time of a boat insurance claim, but is an ongoing process whichinvolves keeping current records of all insured COUTAS.

The RECORDS we keep and ask to have updated annually are:

  • Service Records
  • Photographs (both in and out of water)
  • Mooring Service Records
  • Out of Water Storage dates and location

By holding this information on each and every COUTA we insure we can GUARANTEE in the event of a boat insurance CLAIM that our client’s COUTA will be restored to pre loss condition and back in the water sooner rather than later.

Chris Phillips owner of “Madelaine” says this about CIA’s attention to the needs of Couta owners.

Madelaine and the Couta Boat fleet are an important part of Australian maritime history, as traditional wooden boats they are a direct link to generations past and, maintained properly, will still be here long into the future. As Couta boat owners we have a responsibility to ensure that the Coutas will be maintained and preserved for future generations of sailors to appreciate and enjoy. Who I chose to Insure with is part of that responsibility. Nobody knows this better than Nathan Woodhead and his team at Consolidated Insurance”.

We appreciate the trust Couta Boat owners place with us and endeavor to continually improve our services.
